King of the Hammers 2014

Well, he's off...out to camp and play in the middle of the desert at King of the Hammers 2014, and I am SO glad we aren't with him....just because he'll be camping in sub-freezing temperatures...crazy man!
http://ultra4racing.com/live/

And while I could be pretty jealous and pissed to be left alone with two babes who already challenge my human sanity on a daily basis, (yea, I was already there on Tuesday, but Tuesday is over;) I'm glad he can go. I want to say he is going to owe me big time...but I still owe him big time...I mean, he is letting me stay home all day with the girls and not requiring me to work a second job so we can afford our "dream" home in this crazy stupid expensive desert poverty with a view we call Flagstaff (lol, sorry, just a little frustration about current living conditions).

I am somewhat looking forward to the excuse to do what EVER we girls want while he is gone;]

I mean...go crazy right? maybe not...crazy is what happens when he gets home on a regular basis...good to stay on a schedule.
To a certain extent;!
So we pancaked it up tonight with elf like quantites of maple syrup and chocolate sauce everywhere (eek, yes, everywhere)

WELL, you are going to be seeing plenty about that race soon...he even says to keep an eye out for the orange jeep live on the video cam stream cause he has signed up for "Every Man's Challenge" Race...which I am hoping and assuming does not have crazy speeds or rock challenges!! BEAU!

Anyhow, if it was warmer and not actually a tent city of 30,000 adults in the middle of the desert, doing stupid adult things beside racing...we would have actually gone with him...but I bet he is having FUN.

That is what he needs, FUN with no constructive time demands and constraints...can't remember the last time that was for him...now for me to start daydreaming about what I'd do if I could take a two day hiatus somewhere...hum...probably a bee keeping conference or a cob house making work shop...or better yet, go camping on the beach with my other home-girl mamas!!

SOON...just seems so far away...blink, and the kiddos are gonna be in grade school...
so, until we see each other again Beau

REMEMBER

Each day is a gift, embrace it, revel in it, and Have fun out there, with that tent and those other dudes...ya, you know what that;s called, and I don't need to repeat it, cause it will only make you uncomfortable while making me hungry and wanting breakfast with a side of scrabbled eggs...I digress...stay warm, and good luck hehehe

Love you,
Melly

My glee-ful re-post on Natural Grocers...what a blessing!

Natural Grocers, I'm sorry, I was wrong about you! I have truly fallen for you as a shopping option vs. New Frontiers, and you are saving me hundreds of dollars every few months!!!
I can't give away all my discount buying secrets, but Natural Grocers IS one of them;] Where I used to spend $125-$180/week (!) on all our fresh food needs at New Frontiers and loathe them for it, I now spend $60-$80 week at Natural Grocers and only go to New Frontiers for their awesome meat, bulk cheese, other bulk items AND desserts;] Natural Grocers also has KICKIN' 25lb bags of lentils, rices, oats, grains and beans that have been saving me another almost $40 every two weeks for improve meals when we are running low on funds...it's like "living on $50 a week" for food but eating better than with those un-processed options, I LOVE IT!!

Just had to share...plus, I LOVE that alllll Natural Grocers produce is from the USA, and if it's not, it is a rare thing and it is labeled as so:] New Frontiers...not so much...the oranges and other citrus and apples come from South America...but its ok, its organic (BLAH, not even close). SO, while I'm still trying to talk hubby into letting us do the CSA again during the winter, we will be playing once again, with a good enough garden to produce a majority of our fresh produce needs...because the learning curve for being self-sufficent and sustainable in growing all our food here in Flagstaff, is a challenge, to say in the least, LOL.

BUT, if you are wanting/considering switching to organic, but can't bear the thought of paying more...consider Natural Grocers...and remember...all unprocessed foods are WAY less expensive...that is one of the reasons I spend so little...getting anything in a jar or box at Natural G's is a treat...and sometimes it's a weekly or monthly treat (right now it's there XOXO brand chocolate I have not been able to cut us off from because I also have not found the time to make our own chocolate yet...as our lives are in transition with Summer becoming diaper free!)

SO Natural Grocers has us covered, with the BEST prices in town for organic, fair trade, and somewhat local options;] at least, on the same continent options...which is STILL saying more than even Sprouts at this point!
Sprouts, I WISH YOU WERE A TRADER JOES, cause frankly...you are only a pretty Safeway in my book, and I WILL NOT shop you :p

Natural Grocers, you have my loyalty, even though it took almost a year to win it!!
lol
